ALGEBRA PUZZLE (Tower OF Hanoi)

TOPIC                :          ALGEBRA 
SUB-TOPIC      :           Puzzle (Tower Of Hanoi
YEAR                 :           3

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE :

1)     To move a stack of disks from one peg to another in as few a moves as possible.
2)     To identify the smaller disks and the larger disks.
3)     To identity the top and bottom peg.

LEARNING OUTCOME : 


1.  Able to workout puzzle, to move the disc from one to another according to the rules. 
2.  To develop student logic thinking.

PUZZLE (TOWER OF HANOI INTERFACE)
The rules are:
  • You may move only one disk at a time.
  • You may not stack larger disks on top of smaller disks.
1)     Move the disc from 1st peg to other peg.
  • Click and drag the top disk on a peg to another peg.
  • If your move is legal (the dragged disk is smaller than the top disk on the new peg), the disk will remain on the peg. Otherwise the disk will snap back to its original peg.
  • The display showing the number of moves you have made in the current problem will increase by one.

2)     After the disc completely move to the end peg (3rd peg). Massage “Congratulations!” displayed and shows the number movement. The less movement is the better result.



ACTIVITIES SUGGESTION :

Base on the student ability.

1) Lower ability          -           Can play from 2 to 3 disks.
2) Medium ability       -           Can play from 4 to 5 disks.
3) Higher ability         -           Can move from 6 to 8 disks.
